Mandolin Quartet 
"Da Capo"

MANDOLIN QUARTET "DA CAPO" performs since September 1997 under the name Mandolin quartet "Split" conducted by the late maestro Marin Katunarić, the greatest music teacher and initiator of the mandolin in Dalmatia. In the same year in October, they participated at the International mandolin festival "Giacomo Sartori" in Ali (Italy) and achieved significant results.

After this festival, the quartet started performing with the new name "Da Capo". They presented themselves for the first time in December in the same year with concerts in the cathedral of Saint Domnius, in the Foyer of the Croatian national theatre in Split, in Sutivan, Supetar, Bol, Trogir, Makarska and Baška Voda.
In 1998 the quartet participated at the Croatian mandolin festival "Mandolina Imota" and won 3rd prize.
In 2000 they won 3rd prize in Ala in a competition of mandolin quartets and quintets from all over the world.
At the competition "Mandolina Imota" in Imotski, they won 2nd prize in 2000, 1st prize in 2001 and 2003.
At the international competition in Ala, they won 1st prize in 2003. 
In 2006 the quartet participated in the national mandolin days in Italy (Vittorio Veneto and Venezia).

Since 2010, they participate with The Association of Young academic musicians – Split playing concerts in Split City Museum and Croatian National Theater Split. In December 2012. they played at the ''Concert with the President'' in the Croatian National Theatre in Split organized by Association MAG.
In July 2018. the quartet played in “Skopsko leto” in Skoplje (Macedonia). Mandolin quartet “Da Capo” Split, in their wide opus, plays pieces written by Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Telemann, Pachelbel, Calace, Sartori, Joplin, Sorkočević, Mandonic, Kalebić and Sunko.
Their repertoire varies from the renaissance, classical and baroque styles to modern styles like jazz, blues and rock.
